“Sir, I’m still finishing the syllabus… I’m trying my best to do as much as possible,” she remembers saying — unsure of how his response would be.

No one feels like a topper when preparing, so neither did Neha. She was actually lagging and struggling to finish her syllabus, as her audit deadline was approaching. “It’s not particularly difficult,” she explains. “There are a lot of new concepts, so it can take a little time to get accustomed to it.”

As she progressed with her prep, Neha understood that it was about logical understanding and not just cramming. Then, she actually understood the reasoning behind them, and management accounting felt more manageable.

“Honestly, it’s a lot more logic-based compared to Financial Accounting,” she says. “If students pay attention and practise enough, it’s not that difficult.”

It does not mean that everything was easy for her from the beginning. She went through a phase where questions felt unfamiliar and progress seemed slow. But rather than getting discouraged, she accepted it as part of the process and a sign that she was building new skills instead of repeating old patterns.

Deepak, first of all, congratulations and welcome! Will you share a brief introduction about yourself and what motivated you to pursue ACCA?

Thank You. As you may know, my name is Deepak Saini. I completed my graduation in Arts after that it hit me that it would take a long time to work at a higher designation. I needed to always be on my toes. I realized that arts is not a good enough stream to make a fulfilling career in. Then, I started searching a lot, many streams and courses were available online but ACCA course seemed a more logical course with various global career opportunities. 

Okay, so from where and when did you first hear about ACCA, what attracted you to this qualification?

I searched on Google about courses. And then sent some emails to collect some more information on them. It took me months studying all that and one fine day, I read about ACCA eligibility where I found that it can also be taken up by a 10th pass out, I thought if they can why Can’t I. Wait first I guess I saw an ad also which pondered light on its benefits which made me read reviews and testimonials of ACCA students. 

Talking about your mentor. Who do you think is your favorite mentor and why?

Akhil Sir is my favorite mentor.

Wow, that is real quick.

Yes, there is no doubt about that and the reasons are endless but let me mention a few. 

Oh sure, why not?

After searching a lot on Google. I was confused with the number of courses. I visited some of them including edZeb and here I met Akhil sir. He explained everything to me, about the course curriculum, class schedule and all. He cleared all my doubts and gave a pass for sure assurance. I then thought of pursuing an ACCA qualification with clarity. And from the very first subject, Akhil sir has been a great teacher and mentor throughout the ACCA journey. 

How many exams have you cleared so far, and what has the overall experience been like?

I have cleared 6 exams and the results are awaited for 2 exams. My experience since beginning has been great and all the teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful. Akhil sir is the best but yes other faculty members also help whenever required and put in their best efforts to deliver results. I remember I used to get in touch with them via a call or a text and they always revert back to my queries and doubts. 

Any challenges you faced while preparing for ACCA exams and how you overcame them?

Being from a non-commerce background, initially, I faced challenges with even basic accounting concepts. Teachers here understand the requirements of individual students and I was taught some very basic accounting which helped me to overcome these challenges. 

Did you find any ACCA paper most challenging, and why? How did you tackle it?

For me, the most challenging exam was Taxation. A lot of numbers and concepts have to be remembered. All thanks to Amit sir, his knowledge and way of teaching are par excellence. 

What study techniques and strategies have helped you the most in preparing for the ACCA exams?

I always followed what teachers suggested. They gave the best tips and shortcuts as every exam has a slightly different strategy. So what teachers suggest at the start is best. Students can improvise some tips accordingly as it worked out for them during the preparation but I majorly followed what I was trained to.

How did the faculty at edZeb guide you during your preparation? Any particular mentor you would like to highlight?

The whole Edzeb faculty is helpful and supportive. The mentors used to keep track of the mock tests’ performance. Doubts session, one-on-one discussions and I would like to mention Akhil sir as he always asks about preparation level and any other issues during preparation. He constantly backed me up. Any conversation with him used to be motivating for me. 

What role did the study materials and resources provided by edZeb play in your exam preparation?

Everything was readily available from gusset lectures to offline online study material but what amazed me was that edzeb provided very short notes consisting of all important details which helped me in last-minute revision.

First, let us know what inspired you to pursue ACCA.

I would say that my inspiration was within, I was interested in accounting and finance, and curious at the same time to learn more. Then, as I pursued it, I learned that ACCA is globally recognized and the opportunity to work abroad motivated me to do the ACCA course. There are many opportunities that ACCA offers and I thought of giving it a try. I started envisioning my future, having a good job, a reputable lifestyle, and luxury in life. 

How did you first learn about ACCA as a career path?

Initially, I heard about it from one of my relatives, and then I researched ACCA, its syllabus, and how to prepare for it. So, I found it very interesting. I also liked the flexibility that ACCA offers (as you can sit just one exam at a time) and the frequency of exam sessions. So, I decided to pursue an ACCA qualification.

What made you choose ACCA over other accounting and finance qualifications?

ACCA’s comprehensive curriculum, international recognition, and the flexibility to complete the exams alongside my BCom Honors were key reasons. It aligns well with my long-term career goals in finance and accounting.

How did you find out about edZeb’s ACCA coaching?

When I decided to do ACCA, I asked everyone around me and that is how I found out about edZeb. Firstly Prathana, let us know why you choose ACCA. And did you start doing it after +2 or graduation?

I chose ACCA because of its global recognition and the vast opportunities it offers in finance and accounting. I researched whether I could do it or not as I was in +2. So, I learned about the eligibility, and happily, I  began pursuing it right after completing my Class 12.

Was there a particular moment or experience that made you choose ACCA over other qualifications?

Yes, when I was exploring career paths after Class 12, I was impressed by ACCA’s flexibility. There are lots of benefits. I got to know that it offers a wide range of international job roles which impressed me and became a motivational factor to do ACCA. Then, I also observed that I was interested in accounting and finance when I did commerce in my senior secondary. It will be easy to continue working in a field I like and obviously with so many perks. So, all of this made me choose ACCA over other qualifications.

How did you first hear about edZeb Institute and its ACCA coaching program?

In the beginning, I got an opportunity to learn from Amit Sir. He was my mentor. He motivated me alot, I was not able to cope up and was a bit confused with how to start studying and how to plan out my studies. He helped me every time with any of my doubts, and his confidence in me helped me improve. He always told me to just think about my dream job goal while steadily preparing for short-term targets.

Did you face any challenges during your ACCA journey? If so, how did edZeb help you overcome them?

See, I am currently pursuing my graduation as well so at times it becomes difficult to balance everything side by side. Also, managing my ACCA with other things was hard in between but I am so thankful that edZeb provided me with various study strategies to cover topics in time and flexible study plans to study at home, and even motivated me to help me stay on track.

Can you share a memorable moment or highlight from your time studying with edZeb?

Yes, I will tell you one thing. For me, it was memorable when I cleared my first ACCA paper Financial Reporting with 80 marks. It was a tough subject for me. My journey of hard work became easy for me with the support of edZeb. I found it really difficult to understand concepts like studying and preparing financial statements and the amalgamation of technology skills so with edZeb, difficulty in learning finally became easier and effective. Definitely! I became more disciplined because of my study plan that I used to follow, gained a stronger understanding of finance and accounting, and felt more confident in tackling all the challenges that I was facing while preparing for my exams. 

In what ways has your confidence grown throughout your ACCA journey at edZeb?

See, confidence increases, as you accomplish your goals. My confidence improved as I cleared each paper. I can say that without the support of my mentors at Edzeb, I could not achieve what I have now, and even I will. Their support assured me that I can succeed, even in challenging subjects. So, I think it’s better to choose the right institute for the right guidance and after choosing I was rest assured I followed them and it helped me easily through my exams.

In this interview, we asked Vanshika to share insights into how she navigated her ACCA journey with the guidance of edZeb’s experienced faculty, specifically her mentor Akhil sir, who helped her strike a balance between her studies and other commitments.

So, Vanshika, congratulations on your success! Which ACCA exams did you clear, and how do you feel about passing them?

Thank you for having me here, and I am so happy that I’ve cleared two exams at the Knowledge Level-Business and Technology (BT) and Financial Accounting (FA). I recently cleared the FA in June, but it took me two attempts. Given that I’m currently in 12th grade, managing both school and ACCA was a bit challenging at times, but I feel really proud of this achievement.

Managing your school studies alongside ACCA must be tough. How did you balance both?

Yes mam, it was so tough as I am in school and actively participating in activities. Akhil sir always encouraged me to do that but yes at times it was burdening, especially with my other responsibilities like I was the head girl of my school, so managing studies with activities and my ACCA coaching was tough. However, I received great support from Akhil sir, who never discouraged me from taking up opportunities. He made sure I stayed on track by helping me manage my studies alongside extracurriculars at school, which helped me live my life fully. Otherwise at some point of time in my life, I would have regretted it.

Speaking of Akhil sir, how has he supported you in your ACCA journey?

Akhil sir is an incredible mentor. He never asked us to just focus on the books. He used to explain concepts through real-world examples, like the famous Satyam case study. He encourages all of us in the class to explore and take advantage of every opportunity. I started ACCA in 11th, and he helped me plan my studies so I could focus on my 12th board exams without stress. It is commendable how he understood my strengths and weaknesses and planned out a schedule well suited to me. I lived my school life at best and yes very well managed my ACCA coaching at edZeb. All thanks to Akhil sir. 

You mentioned balancing school with ACCA exams. Did Akhil sir provide any special guidance for your study plan?

Yes, absolutely! Since I started in 11th grade, he advised me to make the most of that year because 12th would be intense with boards. He made sure I was well-prepared in advance and always supported my decisions, took suggestions, and gave the best advice possible like not taking up more exams right before my board exams. So, I think that he personally planned out everything for me. 

How was your experience with the classes at edZeb? Did you attend online or offline?

I attended offline classes, both on weekdays and weekends. The classes were engaging and fun, especially Bhalla sir’s sessions. Even after a long day at school, I never wanted to miss his classes because they were so enjoyable and interactive.

Yes, mam because it’s not just about the knowledge; it is about the exposure also. I’ve told all my friends that the opportunities and experiences we get at edZeb are worth it.
